Such a Lovely Love

Sophie, instructor of computer programming, meets Erwin, a professor of mineralogy. Erwin is sexually inexperienced, and this he never tires of repeating. Sophie, by expanding his sexual horizons, tears the professor out of his reclusive way of life, thus creating a set of contradictions: desire, pain, nearness, and loss.

An ordinary love story - or not quite so ordinary? These are, after all, fifty year olds who unsparingly demonstrate the fundamental misunderstandings between the sexes, and whose passionate "fascination" with each other ends with a sadomasochistic clinch.

As always, Claudia Erdheim's style of narration is very quick. She is realistic and direct. Reading her very individual style that consists almost exclusively of dialogues, the reader senses the emotional realness of these lovers.
